- Published on 10 October 2013
Before You Start
To remove a stain, simply blot to dry the spot, working from the
outside in. Rinse thoroughly with clean water, then blot again. Never scrub
the spot! You run the risk of ruining the carpet fibers or letting the
spill soak through to the carpet pad. Try to identify the type of stain
you are dealing with, whether it be a water-soluble stain or a special
water-soluble stain.Water-Soluble Stains include:
- alcoholic beverages
- soda
- food dyes
- gravy
- ice cream
- jelly
- milk
- mud
- washable ink
- paint
- blood
- chocolate
- coffee
- mustard
- tea
- vomit
- wine
